In a thrilling revival, the long-missed spinoff of the iconic horror franchise is making waves once again: Bill Moseley’s ‘All American Massacre’!
Originally crafted in 1998, this film sees Moseley return to his infamous role as Chop Top, a character he first introduced in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2. This project comes from the creative mind of writer-director William Hooper, who is the son of the legendary Tobe Hooper, the original mastermind behind The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
What began as a short film quickly evolved into a more ambitious project; however, it faced significant obstacles, including financial constraints and legal challenges, which ultimately stalled its release—until now, that is.
After nearly three decades of dormancy, Dragon Studios, an independent film company based in the UK, has taken on the monumental task of restoring the original footage. They are also filming new scenes to transform All American Massacre into a full-length feature film.
Rising from the remnants of his family's gruesome legacy, Chop Top, also known as “Bloody Bobby” Sawyer, is back. Joined by his infamous brother, Leatherface, wielding his chainsaw, they embark on a fresh journey of terror in a contemporary world that has seemingly lost touch with what genuine fear truly means.
Set against the backdrop of the prison where he currently resides, Bloody Bobby’s tale unfolds in a riveting narrative that delves into his spiraling descent into madness, skillfully blurring the boundaries between confession and brutal violence.
This eagerly anticipated installment introduces a new cast of characters, including both victims and survivors, reimagining the Texas Chainsaw mythology with the raw realism, dark humor, and unyielding energy that defined the original films.
Moseley is joined by fellow horror legend Miguel A. Núñez Jr., known for his role in The Return of the Living Dead, along with an ensemble that includes Todd Bates, Danielle Burgio, Jessica Joyce, Stephan Lokotsch, Greg Herger, and Mitchell Drain.
Fans can look forward to more cult actors making appearances, as well as familiar faces from the Sawyer family, many of whom were thought to be lost to history.
In an innovative move, Dragon Studios has launched a CineBacker campaign (https://cinebacker.com/product/tcm-all-american-massacre-inspired-by-the-texas-chainsaw-massacre/) to gather funds for the additional production efforts. Incentives for backers include producer credits, opportunities for roles in the film, limited edition box sets, and much more.
The completion of All American Massacre is slated for later this year, and horror aficionados around the world can hardly wait to see how this haunting narrative unfolds!
